On January 21, 2018, Saskatoon 2018 Ice-hockey Tournament was launched at SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon City, Saskatchewan. The first match was between Blades and Warriors. About 8,000 fans watched this game.
The Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan was invited to perform Chinese Lion Dance and Panda Dance for this event. The U of S CI Lion and Dragon Dance Group and Panda Dance Group performed lion dance and panda dance for three times, before the first game, between the first and second game, and between the second and third game.
