CI Cooking Class at the Juniper House

The Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan held a Chinese cooking lesson together with the senior citizens at Juniper House in Saskatoon.

On February 20, 2016, the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan held a Chinese cooking lesson together with the senior citizens at Juniper House in Saskatoon. A professional chef, Julie, was invited to teach the senior citizens at Juniper House, the volunteer teachers and students of the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan how to make Chinese dumplings. Under the guidance of the teacher, all the “students” were happily involved in making the stuffing, the wrappers and the dumplings.

In less than three hours, all the participants were busy making Chinese dumplings with hails of laughter and discussion. This cooking class has brought not only happiness to all the participants, but also summer-like warmth to all the senior citizens in Juniper House.
