“Law of Nature” Chinese Painting Exhibition by the famous Chinese Canadian artist Shawn Zheng had its opening ceremony in Gordon Snelgrove Gallery, University of Saskatchewan, on July 4, 2016. This art show was hosted by the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan.

Shawn’s works draw inspiration from his surroundings and experiences in China and Canada. This show includes a collection of Line drawing, Chinese Meticulous Painting, Painting on the Chinese fan and Freehand Painting (Chinese Impressionistic Painting, Scholar Style).

This exhibition provides the viewing public with a unique perspective: How to harmonize with the natural world through experiencing this art form; how to learn by meshing that cultural experience with their own.

More than 100 audience came to witness this great event, including Minister Counsellor of Education of the Chinese Embassy at Ottawa Ms. Xinyu Yang, First Secretary of Education of the Chinese Embassy at Ottawa Mr. Zhisong Yin, Vice-provost of the University of Saskatchewan Dr. Patti McDougall and many other art lovers.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Shawn Zheng did some on-site painting demonstration for the audience and presented some of his works to the distinguished guests. This show will last until July 22, 2016.
