USask CI Participated in Juniper House 10th Anniversary Celebration

On June 22, the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan, took part in the Juniper House BBQ Block Party to celebrate the Juniper House 10th Anniversary. More than 200 people joined in the celebration.

On June 22, the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan, took part in the Juniper House BBQ Block Party to celebrate the Juniper House 10th Anniversary. More than 200 people joined in the celebration.

Juniper House BBQ Block Party

The CI volunteer teachers arrived in advance and helped set up the celebration scene. The CI Lion and Dragon Dance Group performed lion dance “Drunken Lion” and the CI Chinese Dance Group performed the folk dance “Mei Lao Zi”. The CI volunteer teacher Ms Hanzhang Li sang the Chinese song “Hawthorn Tree”.

Apart from the performances by the USask CI, several other local organizations also joined in the performances, including the Chinese Dance School of Saskatchewan, the Saskatoon Tai Chi Club, the Saskatoon Chinese Dance Association, and Saskatoon Beijing Opera Club.
