USask CI Performed at Open Door Multicultural Event

On June 27, 2019, the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan took part in, on invitation, the Multicultural Celebration Event organized by the Saskatoon Open-Door Society at River Landing Amphitheatre. More than 300 audience participated in this celebration event.

The USask CI brought to the event several Chinese-style art performances, including the Chinese folk dance “Mei Lao Zi”, lion dance, Chinese musical instrument “Ruan” solo, Qipao show, etc.

The USask CI also displayed a lot of Chinese cultural artworks, such as Peking Opera masks, paper-cutting, Chinese knots, dough figurines, Chinese chess, etc., which attracted a lot of audience.

There were performances and cultural displays by other cultural groups and organizations as well, such as the First Nation, Ukraine, India, Russia, etc.
