2017 U of S CI Board Meeting in BIT

On December 11, 2017, the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan held its second board meeting in 2017 in Beijing Institute of Technology, the U of S Flagship Partner in China.

On December 11, 2017, the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan held its second board meeting in 2017 in Beijing Institute of Technology, the U of S Flagship Partner in China.

Delegates from the U of S included Professor Karen Chad, the Vice-President Research and Chair of the CI Board, Professor Darcy Marciniuk, the Associate Vice-President Research and Chair of the CI Management Committee, and Professor Li Zong, the China Advisor and the CI Canadian Director. Delegates from BIT included the President Assistant Prof. Teng Long, the Director of the International Office Prof. Shuiyuan Tang, the Director of the School of Foreign Languages Prof. Hui Yang, the Deputy Director of the International Office Prof. Qingqing Xing, and the CI Chinese Director Prof. Ning Liu.

Four documents were reviewed and passed at the Board Meeting: the U of S CI 2017 Work Report, the U of S CI 2017 Financial Statement, the U of S CI 2018 Work Plan, and the U of S CI 2018 Budget.

Before the Board Meeting, the Vice-President of BIT Prof. Hong Mei met the CI delegates from its two partners, the University of Saskatchewan, Canada and the University of Lagos, Nigeria.

After the Board Meeting, the President of BIT Prof. Haiyan Hu met the U of S CI delegates.
