From May 15 to 29, 2018, the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan organized the 2018 U of S College of Arts and Science Students’ China Study Tour. Eighteen students and two staff members from the College of Arts and Science visited Beijing and Nanjing, two big cities in China with long history, within two weeks.

During their visit in China, the students visited many universities, including Beijing Institute of Technology, Renmin University of China, Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Nanjing Normal Universities, etc. In the universities, they experienced different campus culture, had exchanges with the local students, and took part in Chinese language and culture classes.

Apart from the visits to the universities, they also visited some very beautiful cultural centers and some historic sites, the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace, the Mausoleum of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, Xuanwu Lake, etc. On their way from Beijing to Nanjing and back from Nanjing to Beijing, they took the bullet-train, one of the fastest trains in the world, experiencing the fast speed of China’s development
