2020 Market Mall Chinese New Year Celebration

On January 18, 2020, the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan (USask CI) along with the Chinese Dance School of Saskatchewan (CDSS) performed for Saskatoon Market Mall on invitation to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

On January 18, 2020, the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan (USask CI) along with the Chinese Dance School of Saskatchewan (CDSS) performed for Saskatoon Market Mall on invitation to celebrate the Chinese New Year. More than 300 audience and shoppers attended the celebration.

The USask CI Chinese Dance Group and the Lion and Dragon Dance Group performed several dances and Chinese musical instrument playing, including “Group Lion Dance”, Mongolian dance “Swan”, Pipa solo “Drunkenness”, Qipao show and panda dance.

After the performances, the lions, the dragon and the pandas paraded in the mall. Many audience and shoppers followed the parade or took photos together with the performances.
