2023 Chinese Culture Easter Camp

From April 10th to 14th, the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan (USask CI) successfully held a Children’s Chinese Culture Easter Camp. The theme of this year’s camp is international cultural exchange.

The 5-day fun camp included sessions on Indigenous Teepee making, elections and democracy in Canada, Chinese calligraphy and painting, Chinese geography and cities, Chinese stories and legends, Chinese crafts, cooking, traditional games and Martial Arts, etc.

In addition to a variety of cultural activities, the kids also enjoyed fieldtrips to the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo, the Diefenbaker Museum, and the local Chinese senior home Juniper House.  All the children, instructors, and volunteers had a wonderful Easter holiday.
