On August 12, 2019, the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan went to Edmonton and visited the Confucius Institute in Edmonton. The CI in Edmonton was co-established by the Board of Edmonton Public Schools and Shangdong Provincial Education Department in 2007 and up to now has won the title of “Confucius Institute of the Year” for three times: 2011, 2013, 2018 respectively.
On August 12, the USask CI delegation first visited the library of the CI in Edmonton, which owns thousands of books and other publications in Chinese covering a wide range of academic areas.

On the walls of the corridor, many memorable and historical photos are displayed. The Canadian Co-Diretor of the CI in Edmonton, Dr. Wei Li, told the USask CI delegation the stories behind each photo, which gave the delegates very deep impression and the delegates learned a lot from their experiences in Chinese language teaching, cultural events, China tours, etc.

In the meeting room, the USask CI and the CI in Edmonton exchanged experiences in Chinese language teaching and other related areas. Then, Dr. Wei Li taught the USask CI volunteer teachers how to make dough figurines.
