Shawn Zheng & Fu Jianzeng Chinese Calligraphy & Painting Exhibition

From September 23 to October 4, the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan held the “Shawn Zheng & Fu Jianzeng Chinese Calligraphy & Painting Exhibition” held at the Gordon Snelgrove Gallery, University of Saskatchewan.

From September 23 to October 4, the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan organized the “Shawn Zheng & Fu Jianzeng Chinese Calligraphy & Painting Exhibition” at the Gordon Snelgrove Gallery, University of Saskatchewan.

On September 27, the reception for exhibition was organized by the USask CI. Dr. Trever Crowe, the Interim Dean of the College of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, Dr. Brent Nelson, the Department Head of Arts and Art History, Ms. jake moore, the Director of University Art and Art History, and Mr. Marcus Miller, the Director of the Gordon Snelgrove Gallery made their opening remarks. Mr. Fu Jianzeng, one of the two artists presented his works of calligraphy to the distinguished guests at the reception.

At the reception, Mr. Shawn Zheng and Mr. Fu Jianzeng did some on-site painting and calligraphy demonstration for the audience.

More than 50 audience participated in the Opening Ceremony. Some viewers also discussed with the two artists about their works. This Exhibition provided a good opportunity for students and faculty of the USask and the local residents to understand and appreciate the art of Chinese calligraphy and painting.
