U of S CI Participated in Campus Cultural Activities

During the Chinese Spring Festival, the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan participated in a serial of cultural activities on campus.

During the Chinese Spring Festival, the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan participated in a serial of cultural activities on campus.

On February 15, 2018, the U of S ASC (Aboriginal Student Center) and ISSAC (International Student and Study Abroad Center) co-organized the “Building Bridge” event at Gordon Oaks Red Bear Student Center. The CI performed lion dance, panda dance, Chinese folk dance, zither, and Chinese song by CI student Cree. The CI also brought to the event some Chinese style cultural stuff such as couplets, lanterns, Peking Opera masks, calligraphy, panda dolls, etc. In addition, the CI prepared some traditional Chinese food like dumpling and spring rolls.

On February 16, 2018, the U of S CI were invited to take part in the Chinese Spring Festival celebration organized by the U of S ESL Center at Williams Building. The CI performed lion dance and panda.

On March 3, 2018, the U of S CI were invited to take part in the International Mother Language Day organized by the East Indian Community at Education Building. The CI performed lion and panda dance to more than 100 participants.
