On September 1, 2018, the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan went to visit the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation, together with other Chinese communities of Saskatoon, organized by Happy-life Wealth Co. Ltd. The Chinese communities and the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation held a memorable get-together in the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation Gymnasium. More than 400 people from the Saskatoon Chinese community and 50 local indigenous people took part in this great event.
The U of S CI Dance Group performed a traditional Chinese dance “Caiwei”, which gave the local citizens a chance to enjoy the great beauty of Chinese culture.
Many other organizations from Saskatoon Chinese Community and the local indigenous people performed at this event.
After the performance, the Saskatoon Chinese Community donated more than CAN$1600 and some schoolbags and Chinese souvenirs to the local community.
