USask CI Chinese Co-Director Participated in International Forum

June 28 to 29, 2019, the Chinese Co-Director Dr. Ning Liu from the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan took part in “The First International Forum on Language Education”, co-organized by Research Center for Language and Language Education of Central China Normal University, School of Linguistics and Language Studies of Carleton University, and the Confucius Institute at Carleton University.

June 28 to 29, 2019, the Chinese Co-Director Dr. Ning Liu from the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan took part in “The First International Forum on Language Education”, co-organized by Research Center for Language and Language Education of Central China Normal University, School of Linguistics and Language Studies of Carleton University, and the Confucius Institute at Carleton University.

More than 20 scholars from more than 10 universities in China, Canada, Singapore and Hong Kong participated in this international forum.

Ms. Karen Schwartz, Associate Vice-President Research and International of Carleton University, Mr. Changxue Yu, Minister Counsellor of Education Office, Chinese Embassy in Ottawa, and Mr. Guosheng Wang, Director of Research Center for Language and Language Education of Central China Normal University made the opening remarks respectively.

Many relevant areas concerning Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language were explored and discussed at the Forum, including the current situation, curriculum design, teaching methodology, teaching material compilation, etc.
