The Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan (USask CI) participated in the National Indigenous Peoples Day celebrations on June 21st, 2022.

The Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan (USask CI) participated in the National Indigenous Peoples Day celebrations on June 21st, 2022.  Due to the weather, the Rock Your Roots Walk for Reconciliations hosted by Saskatoon Indian Metis Friendship Centre was postponed. But the global performers from 10 different cultural groups presented their talents to the Survivors of the Indian Residential Schools at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch.

The USask CI volunteers performed a lion dance, a Guzheng instrument music, and a Chinese folk dance for the Survivors.  At the end of the event, the Survivors and the performers held hands together dancing and taking pictures. It was a beautiful gathering.

The USask CI is committed to Truth and Reconciliation.  On this special day, we want to express our great respect to the Survivors of the Residential Schools.
