On February 14, 2019, the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan, together with the International Student and Study Abroad Center and the Aboriginal Student Center, organized the Chinese New Year of the Pig Celebration at Gordon Oaks Red Bear Student Center.
The USask CI performed the lion dance, Taichi fan, Chinese folk dance, Hanfu (traditional Chinese costumes) show, and zither to more than 200 U of S staff members and students.
Apart from the art performances, the USask CI also displayed a lot of Chinese style materials and gave the audience chances to experience the Chinese culture, among which the Chinese calligraphy and the Hanfu were the favorite of the audience.
