During the two-week tour in China, the group members visited several Chinese universities, including BIT, Peking University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, and the Northwestern Polytechnical University.  The U of S group met with the administrators, faculty members, staff and students of these universities, discussed about the challenge and progress of the existing collaborating programs, and exchanged ideas on credit transfer and potential academic exchange. The U of S group were deeply impressed by the fast development of higher education in China and hoped that the U of S would further deepen the collaborations with these Chinese partner universities.

The U of S group also visited many historical sites in Beijing and Xi’an, China, such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, the Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses, and the Big Goose Pagoda, just to name a few. Many members said that this China Study Tour provided them with an opportunity to get to know the long history and rich culture of China. They hope that, in the near future, more U of S students would visit China through academic exchange and scholarship opportunities.
