Shaolin Chinese Martial Arts Performance

On October 2, 2019, “Shaolin Chinese Martial Arts Performance”, organized by the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan and performed by the Henan “Wulin Hanyun” Martial Arts Troupe, was held at Lakeview Church, Saskatoon. The USask CI Lion Dance Group and Chinese Folk Dance Group joined in the performance. More than 730 audience attended the evening performance.

Dr. Darcy Marciniuk, the Associate Vice-President Research, made the welcoming remarks on behalf of the University of Saskatchewan. Mr. Hengzhen Xu, the Director of International Exchange Office of the Education Department of Henan Province, made his remarks to express his gratitude to the USask for the invitation.

The “Wulin Hanyun” Martial Arts Troupe performed Chinese Kung Fu, Chinese folk dance and traditional Chinese musical instrument playing.

The USask CI Lion Dance Group performed the opening dance “Drunken Lion”, and the CI Chinese Folk Dance Group performed the folk dance “Ambush on All Sides”.
