On March 21, 2016, on the invitation of Trish Monture Centre for Student Success, the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan took part in the on-campus activity “Balanced Living Lunch”.

In the course of the activity, the Chinese martial arts teacher from the Confucius Institute Mr. Boxiong Xiao performed Chinese Tachi to the audience and taught them some simple basic actions. Chinese volunteer teacher Miss Yuanning Cao introduced some basic knowledge about Chinese bold brush calligraphy and taught the audience to write with brush some Chinese characters such as “春” (spring), “家” (family) and “爱” (love).

All the audience were very interested in and deeply involved in the activities. They watched the actions attentively and practiced with great enthusiasm. After the activity, they carefully put their own works into their bags and expressed their willingness to get to know more about Chinese culture.
