U of S CI Dumpling-making Activity

On November 13, 2016, the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan organized a Chinese food culture activity – learning to make dumplings – at the Juniper House Chinese Senior Home in Saskatoon. Invited were members of the 2016 U of S CI Aboriginal China Study Tour, faculty and staff members from the U of S, people from the local communities, as well as senior citizens at the Juniper House.

Enjoying Self-made Dumplings

At the end of the activity, the U of S CI organized a ceremony to grant HSK-1 (Chinese Proficiency Test) certificate to students who have successfully passed the test.

This cultural experiencing activity has been appreciated by all the more than 60 participates who have expressed strong wish to participate in more of such activities. This great event has helped promoting the understanding and friendship between the Chinese and Canadians, strengthening the intercultural exchange and accelerating multi-cultural development.
