U of S CI Performed at Earl Grey

On February 3, 2018, the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan went to Earl Grey Town to perform Chinese arts for the local citizens.

On February 3, 2018, the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan went to Earl Grey Town to perform Chinese arts for the local citizens.

This performance was on the invitation of the Yancoal Co. Ltd, which is located at Earl Grey to celebrate Chinese Spring Festival together with the local citizens. Led by the U of S CI Chinese Director Dr. Ning Liu, ten performers of the CI performing group drove two and a half hours from Saskatoon to Earl Grey.

More than 200 audience attended the celebration. The U of S CI performed the Lion Dance, Taichi Fan, Chinese song, zither solo, panda dance, and Chinese dance “Caiwei”. The local citizens were amazed by the performance because they had never seen such performances before. After each performance, the audience gave the performers long and loud cheers and applauses to show their appreciation and thanks. Many of them expressed their wishes to invite the U of S CI to come to perform again.
