On September 21, 2019, the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan organized the Chinese Dumpling-Making activity at Juniper House, Saskatoon. More than 40 CI staff members and students took part in this cultural experience event.
The host of this event, Archer Bell, a student of the CI, introduced the customs and culture associated with dumpling making and eating in China. Then the CI staff members began to teach the students how to make dumplings. After a couple of trials, all the students learned how to make dumplings.
Eating the dumplings made by themselves, the students were very excited and proud of themselves.
After the meal, two students introduced their experience as CI-Scholarship students in China. The last activity was a game called “Write and Guess”. The event ended in laughter.
