USask CI Participated in 2023 Global Village

On March 15, 2023, the Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan along with the USask CI Student Club took part in the Global Village Fair organized by the International Student and Study Abroad Center (ISSAC) at Louis’ Pub on campus.

This year, the Global Village brings together cultural, social justice, and internationally-oriented student associations for a night of fun and learning. It aims to celebrate diversity on campus and share cultural knowledge among students. More than 300 students joined in the event for live performances and the taste of cultural food.

The students’ favorite activity at the CI booth is to get their names written in Chinese characters. The CI Dance Team performed a beautiful dance “The half pot of yarn” (Ban Hu Sha). Ms. Tiffany Yu played a Guzheng solo called “The walker on the Silk Road”.

The USask international Students from all around the world showcased their talent in the 2023 Global Village. This event provided a great opportunity for students to learn and appreciate each other’s cultures. USask CI and the CI Student Club are looking forward to next year’s Global Village to celebrate cultural diversity on campus.
