The Confucius Institute at the University of Saskatchewan (USask CI) participated in the 2023 Nutrien Children's Festival of Saskatchewan, which took place from June 1st to June 4th at Kinsmen Park in Saskatoon. This annual festival celebrates the arts and culture and provides children with great opportunities for play and learning. Each year, the festival attracts a multitude of children, parents, educators, caregivers, and volunteers.

The USask CI's cultural tent was situated within the Childhood around the World area. The USask CI volunteers organized a variety of engaging and enjoyable activities tailored to different age groups. Children had the chance to experience writing their names in Chinese calligraphy, coloring Chinese dragons and pandas, wearing traditional Chinese clothing, and trying on Beijing Opera masks, among other activities. Additionally, the USask CI lion dance team, Guzheng instrument team, and the Chinese Dance School of Saskatchewan (CDSS) delighted the children with captivating performances, immersing them in Chinese culture.
