Juniper Housing New Year Celebration

The USask Confucius Institute participated in the 2024 Juniper Housing Corporation New Year Celebration Event

On January 27, the University of Saskatchewan's Confucius Institute received an invitation to participate in the 2024 Chinese New Year Celebration organized by the Juniper Housing Corporation. Since its incorporation in 2005, Juniper Housing Corp. has been providing affordable and integrated housing units for low-income seniors and immigrants in need. The Housing Board and volunteers organize numerous social and cultural programs, such as Christmas parties, BBQs in the Block, etc., for its tenants and families.

2024 is the Year of the Dragon, symbolizing power, nobility, honor, luck, and success. This New Year gathering serves as a platform for Juniper Housing board members, volunteers, and the local community to come together in celebrating the arrival of the Year of the Dragon. The event featured captivating performances by volunteers from the USask Confucius Institute, the Chinese Dance School of Saskatchewan, and many artists from the local community. Approximately one hundred attendees were treated to a delightful showcase of talent and delicious food, filling the celebration with laughter and the festive spirit of the Chinese New Year.
