USask CI recently hosted an engaging Children's Easter Camp from April 1st to April 5th, 2024. Over the course of five dynamic days, the camp welcomed 20 enthusiastic students ranging from grade 1 to grade 4 from local elementary schools in Saskatoon.
Throughout the Easter Camp, children were immersed in the rich tapestry of Chinese culture through a variety of interactive activities. From the delicate art of papercutting to hands-on crafts, and from exploring Chinese painting techniques to the elegance of calligraphy and character painting, participants were offered a diverse range of experiences.
The program was thoughtfully curated to strike a balance of indoor and outdoor activities, including stimulating field trips, such as therapy dog visit, Western Development Museum trip, and art workshops and tour of the Remai Modern. This camp provided children with not only the opportunity to learn about Chinese culture but also to actively engage with it, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for cross-cultural exchange.
